The Associate Director of Business Development at PayGlocal will focus on analysing merchant segment needs and identifying growth opportunities, particularly for merchants with international payment requirements. This role involves creating and executing a Merchant Acquisition strategy, leading high-impact partnerships, and providing ongoing support to onboarded merchants, collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Customer Support, Risk & Operations, and Technology.

What will you be working on
  • Analysing the needs of various merchant segments and identifying growth opportunities for PayGlocal.
  • Creating and executing a Merchant Acquisition strategy for PayGlocal, focusing on onboarding merchants with international payment requirements.
  • Leading the initiation, structuring, and negotiation of high-impact partnerships with prospective merchants.
  • Providing ongoing support to onboarded merchants, managing their relationship lifecycle by collaborating with Customer Support, Risk & Operations, and Technology teams.
  • Taking ownership of sales targets, both overall and within specific accounts, and developing strategic plans to achieve them.
  • Collaborating with Product & Marketing teams to communicate merchant product requirements and feedback.
  • Launching new PayGlocal offerings in the market, working closely with Customer Support, Marketing, Product, and Technology teams.
Qualifications
  • Strong passion for cross-border payments and business development.
  • Over 10 years of experience in business development, with at least 3-5 years focused on Cross-Border Sales and expertise in enterprise prospecting.
  • Demonstrated success in sales, consistently meeting or exceeding targets, and engaging with all levels of client organizations, including executive and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Extensive sales experience in targeted territories and verticals related to cross-border business.
  • Exceptional skills in negotiation and communication.
  • Strong strategic mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
  • Willingness to travel across the region to onboard new merchants.
